About the route
A short but fierce route to the easternmost peak of Ivanščica, nicknamed the Zagorje Klek. A steep forest climb and two viewpoints – Balkon over the Bednja valley and Malo Čevo towards Varaždin.
Climbing this peak – modest in numbers but surprisingly tough – is one of the most popular outdoor activities in the Varaždin region.
You can start from Podevčevo or from Završje Podbelsko. Either way, a steep forest climb awaits, leading to a summit with no fewer than two viewpoints and sweeping views of the Bednja valley. The Završje start is the more popular one – the Čevo races start here too, and with its gazebo and barbecue grills it makes a good place to rest.
The route is harder than its length suggests. It is steep, and the forest path can be slippery, so take extra care.
Distance and ascent refer to the route starting in Podevčevo.
